The Bunny Battled the Bands

bobWhen we received the invitation for the Gorilla Music Indianapolis Battle of the Bands at The Emerson Theater, we wondered…do they know 1) we are twice as old as the other musicians, 2) we don’t play music you ‘mosh’ to and 3) we’ve never played a ‘battle’ before.  Plus, people would have to pay $12 to get in for just a half hour performance. Was it worth it? You bet it was!! We had no idea how amazing the experience would be.

Photo Jan 10, 4 45 09 PMEveryone at The Emerson was friendly and helpful. We chatted with the other musicians and they gave us advice. We learned how a battle of the bands works – how you load in and how the back line gets set up. We played first, so we had no idea what to expect. Our hearts were racing as the lights came on and we were off and rockin’ the originals.

The light show was amazing and we had a good crowd. Everyone applauded and cheered and it was a fantastic experience.  We felt like complete rock stars!

Voting wasn’t until 1am, and there were 12 bands following us and we didn’t stay to see who won. It wasn’t about the ‘battle’ – it was an amazing stage to play. Thank you to everyone who came out. It was great to have friends in the audience (with bunny ears!) We appreciate your support and thanks for a great experience.

The Bunny Battles the Bands on Jan 10th

This is probably one of the oddest gigs we could have ever gotten. We’re not young whippersnappers and we don’t play the music you’d probably hear in a Battle of the Bands, yet we will be rockin’ our socks off and having a great time!! The Bunny plays a half hour set – 26 minutes of originals+ 1 fun cover tune – at the Emerson Theater on Saturday, Jan 10th. We don’t know what time yet (hope to find that out on Thursday), but I bet it will be early – like 4 or 4:30pm. Tickets are $10 advance and $12 at the door. We are filming a music video also, so if you have time and want to swing by, we’d love to see you! Email the Bunny for tickets and we’ll send the time when we know.
